Bio
Bruce N. Eimer, Ph.D., ABPP Who is Bruce N. Eimer, Ph.D., ABPP? I am a licensed clinical psychologist in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and a Board Certified Diplomate with the American Board of Professional Psychology in the specialty of Behavioral Psychology. I am also certified as a school psychologist in Pennsylvania and New York. I also hold Board Certifications in Pain Management, Medical Psychotherapy, and Vocational Neuropsychology. I am a Fellow with the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis and Certified as an Approved Consultant in Clinical Hypnosis. I am a lifetime member of the American Psychological Association and the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis. I earned my Ph.D. in Educational and School Psychology in 1981 at the State University of New York at Albany. In addition, I went on to re-specialize in Clinical Psychology by taking a three-year Psy.D. residency in Hahnemann University's Department of Psychiatry between 1983 and 1986. Ive been licensed as a practicing psychologist in Pennsylvania since 1986. I am the author of the self-help book, Hypnotize Yourself Out Of Pain Now! (Published in 2002 by New Harbinger Publications) and the co-author with Moshe S. Torem, M.D. of the self-help book, Coping With Uncertainty: 10 Simple Solutions (2003. Same publisher). I am also the senior author of the textbook, Pain Management Psychotherapy: A Practical Guide (Published in 1998 by John Wiley, 517 pages) and the co-author of the textbook, Brief Cognitive Hypnosis: Facilitating the Change of Dysfunctional Behavior with Jordan I. Zarren, M.S.W. (Published in 2001 by Springer Publishing Company). I myself suffer from chronic neck, back and leg pain as well as arthritis and thus I have first hand experience of what it is like to live with persistent disabling pain. My Specialties
I have been an Adjunct Clinical Professor at several universities in the Philadelphia area, including: Widener University's Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine's Psy.D.
