If you need and want to stop smoking now, I can help
you do it in just ONE visit that lasts around one hour.
If you are ready to stop smoking as soon as possible, the
first step is to call me. You need to have a good reason to want to
stop.
First, we talk initially on the phone for a few minutes
so I can get your basic information and help you decide if you are ready.
I use an original hypnosis approach that is described in
our book, Brief Cognitive Hypnosis: Facilitating The Change Of Dysfunctional
Behavior by Jordan Zarren, M.S.W. and myself (New York: Springer Publishing
Co., 2001).
Using this approach, we have been having about a 70% success
rate.
THE PROCEDURE
-
When you come in to the office, I first do a
thorough evaluation to determine the appropriate approach that will
meet your particular, individual needs. In this way, I can gear the
hypnosis to meet your individual needs.
-
Then, I use hypnosis without deep trance. This means
that you feel very deeply relaxed, but you always remain aware of
everything that is going on. In this way, patients are not likely
to have any problems being helped into hypnosis. Prior hypnotizability
does not matter!
-
The Subconscious part of the mind controls all
of our habits. With your permission, hypnosis opens the doorway to
the Subconscious so that it can be provided with the right information
to re-program your subconscious beliefs and feelings about the smoking
habit.
-
So...You walk out of the office after the session
as a non-smoker. If you have a problem after the session related
to wanting to still smoke, you are instructed to call me immediately.
I do not charge for necessary return visits within two weeks of
your original visit, as long as you call me if you need to within
the two week period!
-
I ask that you bring with you to your visit ALL
of your cigarettes. We get rid of them together in the office. This
is to prevent you from having any cigarettes or smoking paraphernalia
around you that you could use as a crutch or to test yourself with
after you have become a nonsmoker
- And its that easy!
